The debut release from the electronic alter-ego of singer-songwriter Darren Black. Just a synth and a voice. Industrial and ethnic influenced textures and vibes; retro tinged here and there, yet valid and contemporary. Lyrically influenced by the fragility of our complicated lives - patched, veneered, engineered, dressed up, fragmented, distracted to distraction. Yet underneath, we all have the same needs and vulnerabilities. These tracks touch on subjects including the desperation and often unbreakable circle of homelessness; of the convenient dismissal many of us give as we scurry on by, avoiding eye contact, muttering that we "really do have no change". Also on the remarkable chemistry of attraction - it chooses us. Of denial; and of how our choices can make or break us; the risks we sometimes take for satiability.
